Silent Auction added to Saturday's Bingo event

Members of the local PTO have added even more activities to their annual Bingo night to attract all ages.

The night of family fun will be this Saturday, Feb. 28, from 4:30 - 8 p.m. in the grade school old gym, and everyone from the community is invited to attend.

A Silent Auction will begin at 4:30 p.m. and end at 6:30 p.m. Over 30 items will be featured, including a 4-pack of Royals tickets; a birthday package at Cage Gymnastics; a free session of swimming lessons from the Topeka Swim Association; a month of dance lessons at Radiant Dance Studio; five hours of nanny services; and registration in local kids' camps. The auction will also include many "theme" baskets, including hair and beauty, family night out, teacher appreciation, etc.

The actual Bingo games will begin at 6 p.m. and conclude at 8 p.m. Regular cards are one card for $5 or five cards for $20. Separate jackpot game cards will be sold for $1 per card. Jackpot prizes include a $300 Great Wolf Lodge gift card, $100 cash, and an iPad mini.

Eighth-graders and their parents will be offering a concession stand from 4:30 - 8 p.m. The menu will include Gambino's pizza, hot dogs, chips, drinks and dessert. The proceeds will help fund the students' promotion trip in May.

Proceeds from the Silent Auction and Bingo will go directly to Silver Lake grade school teachers for their classrooms.
