Junior high tracksters bring home more hardware

The Eagles competed at St. Marys High School on Thursday. The following athletes brought home first-place medals: Eighth-Grade Girls Kennedy Kats in shot put; Macey Clark in discus, and the 4 x 100 relay team of Addison Hamilton, Saylor Steele, Rebecca Wagner and Saige Steele.

Seventh-Grader Grace North captured first in the 800-meter run and the 1600-meter; Daryn Lamprecht placed first in the shot put; and the 4 x 200 meter relay team of Amber Martinek, Lexi Cobb, Daryn Lamprecht, and Taylor Burkhardt captured first as well.

In the eighth-grade boys category, first-place finishes were earned by Gunnar Madere in the 75-meter hurdles; Wyatt Heiman in the high jump; Trenton Cole in the discus throw; the 4 x 100 meter relay team of Christian Stoner, Trenton Cole, Reid Walker and Wyatt Heiman; and the 4 x 200 meter relay team of Timmy Nesbitt, Jake Lindstrom, Christian Stoner and Tristen Stoner. The eighth-grade boys captured first as a team, 55 points ahead of second-place Mill Creek Valley.

As for the seventh-grade boys, they tied for first place as a team with Rock Creek. First-place finishes included Logan Matzke in the long jump, and Gideon Remer in the shot put and discus throw.
