Student Council members select “Olympics” as Homecoming theme

Homecoming is on Friday, Oct. 7, but preparation for the annual festivities have already begun, with the theme of “Training for the 2020 Olympics” set in motion.

The student body selected the following royalty candidates: Torey Burkhardt, Cassie Dewey, Mackensie Haverkamp, Kayla Lane, Dalton Dultmeier, Dean Honas, Tyler Koelzer, and Ryan Wagner.

Interested in what’s on the calendar for Homecoming?

Hallway decorating will take place on Sunday, Oct. 2 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The hallway themes are following the Olympic theme: Freshmen-Volleyball, Sophomores-Gymnastics, Juniors-Track and Field, and Seniors-Water Sports.

Students are reminded to bring their own supplies, including everything they want to decorate with plus tape, scissors, ladders, wires, etc.  

Spirit week dress up days are as follows:

Monday-Getting Rest Before the Olympics/ PJ Day

Tuesday-Touring the Arenas/ Tourist Day

Wednesday-Favorite Athlete Day

Thursday-U.S.A. Day

Friday-Spirit Day.

The Homecoming parade will begin at 1:45 p.m. on Friday. The pep rally after the parade will take place on the high school football field, or high school gym if it is raining.

The crowning ceremony starts at 6:40 p.m. on the football field.

The football game will kick off at 7 p.m., with the Eagles hosting Riley County. The dance will take place after the football game on Friday and will be held in the high school commons from 9 p.m. to midnight. The price to enter will be $3 per person and $5 per couple.
