From October 5–9, 2026, Kansas residents can apply to participating Kansas colleges and universities with no application fee.

Letter Jacket Fitting & Ordering — Wednesday! 🦅

The Letter Jacket Man will be at Silver Lake on Wednesday, Sept. 23 from 4:30–7:30 PM in the Commons to size students, take orders, and answer questions about letter jackets.

Students can stop by to get sized even if they aren’t ready to order yet. If you already have your letter, please bring it with you.

Jackets can also be ordered anytime by individual appointment.

🪩 Homecoming Week: Blast From the Past! 🪩

There’s a LOT happening as we finish out Homecoming Week at Silver Lake! 🦅

Thursday brings Color Wars at the Grade School, Maroon & Gold Day for Junior High, and Hippie Day at the High School. Friday, Grade School goes Maroon & Gold, Junior High throws it back to the 80s or 90s, and High School celebrates SLHS Spirit/Hat Day.

Friday’s schedule includes HS dismissal at 11:35 AM, JH dismissal at 11:45 AM, buses running from the Grade School at 12:00 PM, Homecoming Parade line-up at 1:00 PM, the parade at 1:45 PM, and a pep rally immediately following at the football stadium. The Homecoming Ceremony begins at 6:30 PM, followed by kickoff at 7:00 PM.

We’ll also recognize several Silver Lake State Championship teams at halftime, celebrating decades of Eagle tradition. 🏆

And don’t forget the Homecoming Dance — Saturday, Sept. 19, from 8:30–10:30 PM in the Commons and PAC. Admission is $5.
