We hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend. Here is a look at the week ahead! #SLEagles

Don't forget this Wednesday will be our first late start day of the year. All students (except afternoon pre-school) will start at 9 a.m.🕒
Why late start days this year? This time will be dedicated for teachers to focus on their professional learning communities to work towards the board's goal of training and monitoring the use of student data to address individual student needs.
This will allow for better coordinated efforts to help ensure the learning needs of each student are being met. #SLEagles

Here is a look at the week ahead. Let's make it a great one! #SLEagles

While we are enjoying summer, and gearing up for the next school year, we want to continue our recognition of our 2023-2024 retirees.
Our next retiree is Lori Hamilton, district Occupational Therapist. After 42 years in education as an OT, with 33 of those years being at Silver Lake, Lori has officially entered the retirement club. When asked what her favorite thing about her job was, Lori shared that it was the wonderful kids she had the opportunity to work with. She also shared that being able to engage students with her therapy dog, York was a special highlight of her career.
In retirement, Lori is looking forward to travel and spend time with her husband. She is excited for the next two years to spend time with her youngest grandson before he starts kindergarten and being able to exercise.
Lori is looking forward to spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She will miss the students and her co-workers.
Congratulations, Lori and thank you for your service the students, staff and community of Silver Lake. #SLEagles

2020 was a year that brought a lot of heartbreak in many ways. One of those being the loss of a normal senior year for the class of 2020. As we work on our new baseball ⚾ and softball 🥎 fields we took the opportunity to honor the softball and baseball players who missed out on their senior year of playing by having them sign a ball that was then buried under home plate at each of the facilities. #SLEagles
