The following is important information from the school nurses.
NEW ISOLATION REGULATION FOR POSITIVE INFLUENZA!
Updated regulation from Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KAR 28-1-6) states that anyone diagnosed by their health care provider (physician, APRN, PA) Influenza shall remain at home for 7 days following onset of illness.
If someone is diagnosed with influenza, either by lab confirmation or provider diagnosis, they will be asked to stay home for 7 days after onset of illness. The term “flu” is frequently used for many different illnesses. However, these regulations apply only to someone with the diagnosis of Influenza.
If your child is diagnosed with influenza, please notify the school nurse.
Please be respectful of others & keep your children home when they are sick.
** Fever is an important symptom; when it occurs along with sore throat, an earache, nausea, lethargic or a rash, your child may be carrying something contagious. If a student's temperature at school is 100 degrees or higher, they will be sent home.
** PLEASE keep your children home during the course of a fever and for an additional 24 hours after the fever has passed. Please do not give them fever reducing medicine, then send them to school.
Let's work together & keep our school healthy!
